Hi there! We’re Rosana and Trevor, and we call beautiful British Columbia home. Our province is famous for incredible gardens like Butchart Gardens in Victoria and VanDusen Botanical Garden in Vancouver —places that inspire both seasoned gardeners and those just starting out. But you don’t have to travel far for inspiration; there’s plenty to discover right in our own backyards and the many parks scattered across Vancouver Island and throughout BC.
We’re excited to welcome you to our gardening journey, where we share our favourite plants and landscaping tips and all sorts of gardening adventures. Whether you’re just starting out or have been tending plants for years, we believe gardening is always an adventure—full of inspiration and the perfect way to relax and recharge!
My love for gardening began as a teenager, inspired by my mum, who was known for her passion for plants—especially among our friends, family, and neighbours! While gardening came easily to her, for us, it’s been a learning curve filled with a few tears, plenty of laughter, and lots of memorable moments.
My Garden Plot is all about growing and learning together, finding inspiration, and above all, celebrating the joy that gardening brings. We hope you’ll join us as we share our gardening and landscaping tips, stories of success, and, of course, the inevitable blunders along the way!
A Dedication to My Mother
I dedicate this website to my beloved mother, Anita Ward, whose influence has shaped my passion for gardening, plants, flowers, and nature. Her unwavering love and enthusiasm for cultivating beautiful gardens served as my greatest inspiration. She was not only my mentor but also a phenomenal gardener, instilling in me the appreciation and knowledge that continues to guide my journey. Through this dedication, I celebrate her remarkable legacy and the invaluable lessons she shared with me.
