Spring is the season our senses are awakened. The longing for spring while enduring winter is keenly felt by gardeners. Where I live, we get flickers of early spring in February. But until April swings by, we are at mother nature’s mercy. Once we feel the certainty of spring and its warming sun on our skin, we know it is here. We can smell the earth awakening. The sight of spring is a joy. Plants and trees giving us their tender promise of a new arrival, a welcome back. The Mason bees awaken, and their buzzing draws us outside. Birds sing to us with their songs. I love all four seasons for their distinctive messages. But spring is special. It brings optimism. We feel restored aching for more.
