Our Gardening Adventures

Hello, our names are Rosana and Trevor. We live in British Columbia, Canada, home to world-class gardens such as Butchart Gardens in Victoria and VanDusen Botanical Garden in Vancouver. These fantastic professionally-landscaped gardens are an inspiration to gardeners and non-gardeners alike. But there is much around to draw from our own gardens and backyards, and the many parks in Vancouver Island. We are delighted to share our exploits, from our favourite plants and landscaping tips to sharing our gardening adventures.

If you are reading this website, it is likely because you are interested in gardening, nature and the outdoors. Perhaps you are new to gardening or have years of experience; either way, gardening is an exciting adventure, inspirational and a great way to unwind!

My interest in plants and gardening started when I was a teenager, and my early inspiration came from my mother. Her love for plants was known to all our friends and family – especially the neighbours! While gardening came naturally to my mum, it has been a learning experience for us – one filled with a few tears and mishaps, but much laughter along the way.

My Garden Plot is a journey of learning and inspiration, and above all, the joy of gardening. We thought it would be fun to share our gardening and landscaping tips – the successes and the inevitable blunders along the way.

We would especially love to receive your comments!

I dedicate this blog to my beloved mother, my inspiration, Anita Ward – who taught me the love of gardening , plants, flowers, and nature. She was a phenomenal gardener.
